neeed halp! engine ticking

i recently did a oil change. using 10w-40 with 4 quarts.

when i did everything correctly, i started driving.after everything was all warmed up, i smelt something really weird. it smelt like burning oil. so i went straight home. on my way home, my 4th gear was rattling.

now my car idles at 500-600 and just sounds like a diesel truck. car starts up fine and run fine until my car warms up.

there is a tick that comes from the engine

did i do something wrong with my oil change or what?
