E5s use the same sensor as the older redtops. I'm running an E5 on my setup (redtop sensor). It could just be faulty.

Less than thirty. If you want to be absolute, take the P/N from our parts FAQ and look it up by that at your dealership

I'm buying a new sensor and see what happens. I'm just about done with this thing. Anybody have any ideas?

I'm telling you, my buddy and I were beating our heads into the concrete trying to figure his problem. The car would start when it had sat long enough, then he'd go drive it around, but once it warmed up, it would just dump a stupid amount of fuel. To get it started, he would disconnect the injectors from the harness, crank the car, it would catch and immediately die, replug the injectors, and the car would start up. We went through that car with a fine tooth comb, and one of the first things I asked was about the coolant sensor "Oh it's good. I know it is". We checked fuel pressure, we contacted JWT to double check the ROM flash. He even accused my wiring of his Z32 MAF at one point, so I had to go digging into the harness and triple verify I had done it properly. Finally, he gets around to replacing the coolant sensor. Hasn't had an issue since.

Ok so this is weird. I still haven't gotten my new cts but I tried to start it by shooting starting fluid straight into the throttle body. I disengaged the fuel of course and nothing, maybe because its flooded already? This is how I got it running with my 62 ecu in the first place. IF it was the cts giving false readings, it wouldn't flood it cause the fuel is disengaged. Unless I'm missing something. I'm really leaning to the idea that the ecu is s*** or something is not quite right with the tuning. Im sending it to Enthalphy first thing in the morning tomorrow.

So I did a compression test and the results aren't looking too good. 1=0, 2=0, 3=140, 4=135.
Most likely some nice bent valves in there. I didn't do a leakdown test as I don't think its necessary, but we'll see. Called the machine shop and its $35 for an inspection on the head as I fear a valve guide might've cracked depending on the severity of the damage to valves. Now I get to have fun and remove the head again :-) Even though I am very upset, I believe this is kind of a good thing, it leaves me plenty of room to upgrade the ENTIRE valvetrain.

Turns out either I never tightened up the camshaft sprokets or I didn't torque them enough. Both intake and exhaust sprokets were loose as f***. Apparently the timing is dead on. I spun the crank pulley until they matched up and both cams lign up and the crank too. BUT the exhaust cam didn't turn, just the sproket... So there the reason why I have no compression. I bet that day I got it to turn on, the cam stayed at a position were the valves stayed opened. Now I will put verything back together and make sure EVERYTHING is torqued to specs, do another compression test, and cross my fingers I get good results aka no bent valves

Good luck bud. The scary thing is, if the cams weren't moving, and the pistons were, you have a high chance you bent some exhaust valves...

This is true. But, I guess I will have to wait and see for the compression results on Wednesday, my only day off work this week :-(

:) Did you do another compression test, or just put it all together and start it?

Did another test. 130, 135, 140, 140. I DIDN'T do it with the throttle at wot, but its good enough I guess. In my opinion it sounds awesome with the cams. How do I post a video from my phones gallery??

Fixed your video. (You had spaces on each side of the link so it wouldn't embed correctly. Also, what is the "grinding" noise... Otherwise, it sounds good. Congratulations. I still remember starting my S13 for the first time with carb cleaner.. It's an amazing feeling.

Thanks for the fix man. I think its just poor quality audio from my cell phone, I don't remember hearing any grinding at all. Perhaps it was a vacuum leak or something, as non of the vacuum lines are hooked up yet. Needless to say I'm in love with the idle on this thing.

I was thinking the other day. Should I be thinking about an inline fuel pump?

You're running a walbro 255 in tank pump, right? You won't max that out on a 2871...

^That sucks, esp. since you just got it running again. Glad it seems there was no damage. Try to sock some $$ away over winter just incase you find issues after the snow leaves :)

Thanks, it should be fine though. Im saving my cash to pay off my tool box and school payments, I'm done with it. I do need a Profec boost solenoid, and a kouki wing, or maybe a 326 wing. Also I need to source a s15 hlsd

Why an S15 HLSD?

There's a local guy here with a 6bolt J30 VLSD (Same as I'm running in mine). If you're interested, let me know and I'll see how much he'll want to ship it.

Well vlsds are usually worn, and I don't want to go through the hassle of shiming it. But yea sure if you don't mind asking him how much its been abused and a price, thatll be suave lol

I checked it out last night... It's stiff as hell. I need your zip code so he can get a shipping quote.
