Needs to be REPROGRAMED

Well I replace the O2 sensor Monday and the light (SES) is still on. I had a mechanic turn it off (still doing the drive cycle thing) and took it to emission test. Now the Air Intale sensor is bad P0110 so I got a replacement. I just got off the phone with Infiniti and was told the O2 sensor had to be reprogramed . The mechanic took 10 seconds to turn the SES light off. Am I missing something here?

Also, does the Intake Air Temp Sensor need to be reprogramed ? The device the mechanic used was a little small palm held device.
