The car is an 89 nissan 240sx.After i switched out the non working instrument cluster out of my car, i started getting flashing lights. It makes me thinks that the bulbs were bad on my old one. anyway the check engine light will flash: 2,3,4,5, times constantly. Even when the car is running, it still flash. I think that's why the car is not running right. It will screem but it won't go fast and sometimes it seems like it's not getting enought fuel. Anybody knows what those codes means? or where can i find the myself? I will appreciate any help. thanks.

that doesnt sound like codes just the sequence to get to the code search/test you want to do ie. o2 test/realtime driving test. IS the screw full counterclockwise?

the led's flash 1x,2x,3x,4x,5x to tell you what test you are on. There's a screw on the ecu that should be fully turned left. That will make you not be in code search mode or test anything. You turn it to the right to get the codes to flash or test out the other circuits or parts. Is that any better?

yeah if the ecu stores codes the part may have had a hiccup and the ecu just still thinks the problem is happening
