hey guys, i recently bought a 73' 240. the guy i got the car from had all the switches hooked up with weird toggle switches and ran extension cord for wiring...fail. so ive purchased all the combo stocks and switches, but come to find out alot of the plugs are missing. i cant find any wiring diag's explaining plug detail. but if i had a picture of the plugs comming off the stock to the main harness from both switches i could get a better idea.. also theirs 3 black wires hanging by my hood latch release under the dash that arent hooked to anything..ideas?i also replaced the fuse box and theirs 2 plugs that could go in to it that i have no idead which one that is.lol. a labeled pic with the wire color and function would be great too. :gapteeth:

the fsm details the pinouts for the wiring

the wires by your hoos release might be the wires to the pin switch, the pin switch might be provlen and someone unplugged the wires so the dome light wouldnt stay on

Here are a few pictures of my 1970 240Z stalk switches. When I got my z, it had the wrong light/wiper switch in it. Here is a picture of both sets of switches.

Top switches are for series 1. Notice that there is no intermittent wiper, only two speeds, slow and slower  . The lower one has a longer pigtail on the turn signal side and has a three position wiper selector switch. slow, slower and intermittently slow... I think yours is supposed to be the lower one.

Here is a close up of the upper set. Again, probably not supposed to be in yours, but you never know what somebody may do.

And here is the lower switch set. Notice that the three pinned blue wires coming out for the wipers were not in a connector. This is how it was removed from my car, except for the fact that they were all wrapped together with electrical tape  . I eventually figured out that I had the wrong switch in my car and swapped it out with the correct one for me.

and... I agree with evildky about those black wires being for the door switch.

Let me know if you need some more pictures.
