Hey guys, I'm not trying to sale anything here. I'm in contact with a very well known camshaft shop in Tacoma, Wa that specializes in stock and performance regrinds and has a great track record with their regrinds. We are looking into options for the VH45DE as I know there is only one real option for an upgraded cam in the states and it is costly.

We are looking into providing an option for use w/ the vh45de hopefully with similar specs as the current available upgrade, but at a significantly lower cost (think almost half)

Basically, they don't want to mess with my cams for fear that *if* something went wrong and they messed them up I would be one angry person, so what we need is some spare cams delivered to them. My only option for picking up another set of cams is to drive 2 hours north and rob a junkyard, in which case I would feel bad for leaving someone with a potentially cam-less engine. I am willing to work with you on shipping or w/e but if someone was in the area that would be awesome!

Let me know if you can help, lets help give the VH45DE owners more options for aftermarket parts!

I sent the cam shop pictures of the head and valve-train as well as some specs and he said that it should be no problem and that the valve-train is similar to that in Mitsubishi heads. We came to the conclusion that it should be doable and we skipped finding spare cams and I sent mine off today to get a regrind.

I expect them to arrive sometime next week and I will keep everyone updated on the progress. Unfortunately, the cams will be done far before my build is as I'm doing a complete bare metal track only style build so I won't be able to test them anytime soon. All said and done, it should cost roughly half of what the current option runs.

What is the name of the shop?

What are the specs for the regrinds?

The shop is delta cam, and I'm not sure what specs yet as they are going to figure out what the limits would be. I will let you know once they get the cams and figure out what we can do. I'm sure we can atleast go as aggressive as Maz.
