well i have debating where i wanted to go with the g and i decided to make everything black. i got 35 percent tints in the front windows and 5 in the back. and now im heading over to the grill and rims. i have two questions. first one is would it be better to just have the stock grill painted gloss black or buy the skyline type grill and paint it black?the second and more important question is i have been playing witht the idea of painting the stock rims. i was thinking about doing a gloss black. do you think it would look nice? my car is diamond graphite and i dont know exactly how it would look. could anbody here that is could with photoshop make me like a picture of what it could possibly look like? i think it would look pretty sweet considering no one in my area has it done.

So I'm guessing you have a sedan? I'd say keep the stock grille and paint it black. I have a replica grille but sometimes I miss the Mt. Fuji logo in the front. From pictures I've seen, the stock grille painted black looks a lot better than aftermarket. Also, I'd stay away from painting the stock rims. Maybe it was a bad quality paint or a bad color, but it looks tacky. I'd stick with the stock rims unless you really want a different look and just get different rims. Maybe you should think about overlays and/or clear corners. I don't want to break any rules so just search g35 on google and its like the 4th link that comes up . Search for pictures on there, I've seen tons.

Go for it! Paint them black, thats what I did. Heres a link on a DIY on painting the grill that I did and heres pics of G37 stock wheels painted. My wheels are done flat black for the gunmetal look but gloss black would be sweet too especially on grey.

I'd go with powder coat if I was going to change the rims - probably use the "black chrome" colored powder - more durable and chemical resistant than a spray can, provided you have access to an oven large enough to complete the task... Fortunately a friend has a walk in oven at his electric motor shop.

Paint the Grille

I think it looks hot. Before you paint it, maybe you take the emblem off so that part stays looking chrome and the contrast would be sweet.

As for the rims, painting them would be a good idea too.

Personally, I think going with a dark gray like a gunmetal or something instead of black. I personally don't think black would go well with your color, but if you had the darker silver, that would look nice in black I think. I think the car you posted should be what you want to aim for. The dark grill, the gunmetal rims, and even darken the chrome in the headlight housing, but not straight up black. That's just my opinion.

Haha sorry for the late response but the search was supposed to be to a competing forum and I didn't want to make it obvious... theres a whole sub forum dedicated to only pics. But I still say go for painting the grille black but as for painting the stock rims black, ehhhh.... I like the idea of leaving the lip but painting everything else black. Not to discourage you but....beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have a roommate that always criticizes me for my grille but I think it looks good and thats all that matters. And he also drives a mustang hahah
