I am having my stock '97 LE/SE wheels painted professionally as a favor. I just can't decide on a good color for them. The car is silver moss and will stay that color. Even though I like bronze/brass, my wife said she REALLY didn't like it, so I am going with a gunmetal/graphite/light gray color.

Do you think I should go with a darker color or a lighter color? Does anyone have pics of these wheels already painted? I did a search and didn't find much.

Is this too dark for my car color?http://www.streetdreams.org/di...0Gray

These are a little lighter -http://www.streetdreams.org/di...0Gray

Any input is appreciated.

I hear you man. I like the idea of the bronze color, but i also wonder if it will be too much on the stock wheels. Seems bronze looks better on smaller spoked wheels - imo. I am probably going to go with a lighter color to contrast the car color some. I like the midnight black look, but anyone that doesn't know cars thinks your hubcaps fell off and the steel wheel is showing. Unfortunately I have to keep the car "presentable" for family and friend reasons. The politics involved as you get older sucks.

If there's such a problem with the stock alloy color, paint the centes blacking/"gunmetalish" and have the outer area be a shiney silver or something. I think bronze wouldn't look bad either.

Also, pics of your car would help everyone's visualization process.

I say go with the dark gunmetal color, but that's just what my favorite is. Black would look good too, especially if you could polish the lip.

isnt there a tiny lip on those rims? You could do one of the greys and leave the lip stock grey, that would look good.
