Whats up Guys, Im a noob to the forum so bear with me....... I have recently decided to swap out my stock turbo for a higher flowing one. Im going to get the Garrett GT2871R with .64. My question is for those of you running this turbo, which injectors are better, 550 or 740? I was going to go with 740 at first then noticed many are running 550, is 740 overkill? Also, will I need to do any fabbing to install the turbo? I have a Z32 MAF and I will tune my ECU when finished. I have heard of people mailing in their ECUs to be tuned by online companies, but do you gusy think it is better to go with that or to get it tuned by a local company? Any input is appreciated. Thanks Guys!

You are in CHI-Town so I would get a piggyback (GReddy Emanage Ultimate or APEXi Power FC) and have it tuned locally. This will allow you go to the same shop to have it updated with your mods immediately and without sending in the ECM with a $500 check every time you upgrade (like a mail-order ECM).

I am running 740s. I like them as it allows room to grow plus keeps injector duty cycles low for nice reliable operation.

Agreed 740's. Nothing wrong with giving yourself some cushion besides, if you decide to push more boost or upgrade the turbo, you won't have to buy another set.

running bigger injectors just means that you have a wider parameter of power and tuning. with 550cc and race gas you will be fine with that turbo if you have a very good tune shop. but who is going to run race gas
