95 unless it's a reeeeeeaaaaaalllly late production 95 will be OBD, 96 and up is always OBD 2.
You can do either or.
1) If you use the 97 harness & ecu, just don't tell the emissions place it's obd 2 and let them put your car on the rollers for the 50/50 test. That's where they put the readers in your tail pipe and run the car at specific rpm ranges etc
Cons however, I personally, have never done that specific swap so I don't know if you'll run into any other problems, such as the plug behind the glove box that goes to the dash etc. They may be the same, they may not, if not match the colors. But I don't think that'll be an issue.
2) If you swap the intake manifolds get new intake gaskets regardless of whether or not they appear to be intact upon dissassembly. Save yourself the headache of doing the suck work twice.
Just a quick question, why is this even an issue? Are there extra plugs, are some of the plugs different, is something too short, ??
Another pro to the 97 ecu and harness would be, if you have the rest of the harness, specifically the OBD 2 check connecter, on the bright side if you encounter problems or still fail emissions it'll store in the ecu the trouble codes and help with your diagnosis. My opinion I'd use the 97 electronics with a 97 motor.
