I'm up here in Chicago looking for another 240sx (donated my last 240sx to a marine as a coming home gift). One popped up recently. Stick, 5 lug, and most importantly, minimal amount of rust. I've talked him down to 1200$ at this point. Now, I looked online and found a photo album of another 240sx he "previously" owned and then wrecked. He told me that the car he wrecked is not the same one he is attempting to sell to me but I need your help. Is this the same car? Same 5 lug, looks like the same interior, and the front is a little crumpled if you look by the radiator. What do you all think?

Help? Is this the same car you think?

Probably is, they look pretty close and that could explain why the hood is all in terrible shape with hood pins, and why the front support is dented up. Ask if it's salvage title or clear.

Definitely the same car. That would deter me right off the bat as who wants to buy from a liar? Who knows what else it's been through. I say it's worth nothing over $1000. I would almost buy it to part it out.

That car is a piece of s*** and there's no way it drives correct.

one way u can tell is by looking at the paint differences in the fenders next to the doors, if they look a bit different then its the same car n its been fixed.. there no way two different cars with the same color paint would match perfect, cause they fade different(sun light, wintery crap) no two car are alike...

also the airbags were deployed on the first one so that means that if its the same car, that they had to replace the dash as well so check the vin plate on the dash n look at the rivets holding the tag down if they look somewhat different or out of place a bit then u got ur answers...

I feel comfortable saying its nto the same car. The rad support on the bottom pics is way too crumpled to have been pulled back out to the state of the rs in the first pics. Also the hood, the crumples in the first pic are nowhere near similar to where they would be if they tried to flatten out the hood in the second pics.

And why would he buy a new exhaust and remove the mudflaps before completely fixing the front end?

^ Could have easily fixed that with another parts car. Probably slapped the exhaust on to deter the buyer. Definitely a piece worth no more than $500-800. Seems real fishy why 2 different cars "appear" to have been in a wreck. No license plate in the other pics... Hmm. Get another shell.

Look at the trunk with the holes. No wing now suddenly a wing in the other pics.

And the one thing that couldn't be altered is the tail lights. Look how they are aligned in both pics.

you make absolutely no sense there bud. Every s14 I have seen has misaligned tail lights. So he spent money on a new exhaust but couldn't spend just as much money on a new hood? Instead he bought a crumpled hood to put on it? Is it not possible to have 2 s14's that are the same color and have very unfortunate luck with each? Both of them have been wrecked. He's not trying to deter anyone. It's pretty obvious that something is wrong with the car that he is considering buying. He's not covering up anything

I did say he could have fixed it up with a parts car?? Maybe he couldn't find a better hood so used the best of the 2?? We can go all day with this. Honestly just look for another s14 without the shady stuff. All I see is a whole lotta fail and expensive body repairs with this chassis.

Id offer 8-900. All it needs is a new front. Kouki fenders headlights bumper and hood. Done deal. It really wouldnt be that much work. It just depends on how you feel about doing the work
