I have a hard choice with in the next month. My goals are areliable 350-400 rwhp, so far have plans on aem ems (unless a better deal comes along), Phatka-t mani, aries 8.5 pistons (on order), shot peen stock rods (or should I upgrade now, would kill the aem idea), ARP studs, thinking about Q45 throttle body (don't quite know if it will fit, so far have been told that as long as it did not come from a car with traction control it will.), 550 cc injectors (have), and cobra maf.

On to the question which do you guys think will work?

GT30RCompressor:- Wheel: 76.2mm w/ 56 trim- Housing: .60 A/R- 3.00" Inlet / 2.00" Outlet

Turbine- Wheel: 60mm w/ 84 trim- Housing A/R: my Pick of .62 / .82 / 1.06 (which one will be the best I think 1.06)

GT35R (about $100 less) Compressor:- Wheel: 82mm w/ 56 trim- Housing: .70 ar- 60-1 Type housing w/ 4" Inlet & 2.5" Outlet

Turbine- Wheel: 68mm w/ 84 trim- Housing A/R: my Pick of .63 / .82 / 1.06

GT3071R about $60 less than gt35Compressor:-Wheel: 71mm w/ 56 trim- Housing A/R: .50 - 2.00" Outlet- Inlet size: my Pick of 3" or 4"

Turbine- Wheel: 60mm w/ 84 trim- Housing A/R: My Pick of .63 / .82 / 1.06

all are new all are Garrett ball bearing turbo

go with a gt2871R with an 86trim. No doubt about it. Itll hold 400whp, ball bearing, full boost by 4500rpm !

I was thinking the same thing but for an extra $100 I could upgrade to a gt3071R. I was thinking that I would be satified with the gt3071r and just trun down the boost until I have the monye to upgrade every thing (more than likely next winter). I have the monye now so I would like to get the turbo now than wait until winter and thing pop up and I can't do it.

I was reading a similar thread on FA and they were saying the 3071 .64 will spool faster than the 2871 and still provide over 350.

I've been looking at the 3251E. On a KA it was knockin out 14lbs at 3200 rpm and made 309hp plus 368 ft lb at only 15lbs

I'll try to find that thread on the 3071

Why a MAF if you are spending the money on the AEM?While I agree that it has the potential to be more efficient at part-throttle, most of the research has gone into using the AEM as a speed-density system. You might be able to save yourself a few bucks.

T3/TO4E 50 trim, .63 AR ex housing. Gives enough volumes for over 400 whp and spools by 3200 or so....WAY cheaper as well. So you can now upgrade your rods.

Great price! Almost half the price and it spools at 3200? Where has this been all my life! And I've been listening to all the hype. Forge rods here I come.

I've been under the impression that you still need a MAF with AEM. Is this true, if not, even more money saved. Thanks NICO for saving me a hell of a lot of money!

am pretty sure the AEM EMS uses a MAP sensor, or at least thats much easier than using a MAFS.

nope, you can use a variety of map sensors, including GM and AEM. im still on the MAFS setup right now, but plan on switching to the GM 2 bar next month.

The AEM uses any sensor made that measures intake air volume...it's simply the best system on the market.
