Hi All,

Well, I finished doing a complete rebuilt after I got an engine that was in bits and pieces. Every thing went well, but the dam thing isn't starting.

It cranks, I got fuel, and I check the injectors and they are getting power and it is pulsing as I disconnected the injector plug and used a special light to plug instead of the injector and the light was pulsing, did that on all injectors, so I know my injectors are working fine.

I am also getting spark, pretty bright one too, all grounds are hooked up.

When I turn the ignition on, the fuel pump turns on but never turns off, the car cranks but won't even try to attemp to start or backfire.Few seconds of cranking and the engine is flooded and the spark plugs are pretty wet.

I removed the timing chain cover what a pain in the *** when it is in the car and redid my timing chain according to the FSM. I made sure the crank sprocket is lined up with the mark above it on the block and I also verfied that piston #1 is all the way up TDC. Also as per the fsm I made sure the exhaust cam is at 12 oclock and the intake cam is at 10 oclock, I installed the timing chain with the yellow mark onto the mark on the crank sprocket and the two other marks onto the cam sprockets and they lined up with the marks on the sprockets as well.

I made sure I turned the engine by hand using a socket on the crank to make sure the valves aren't hitting the pistons if the timing is off, every thing seemed fine, but when I do a few turns the marks won't line up to where they were the first time I set it. I also installed the tensioner.

the Camshaft sensor is installed as per the fsm as well

I am pretty sure my problem is timing.

Could some one please tell me how you do the timing without going through the fsm, not sure if the fsm missed a step or I am missing a step.

The engine is an S14 VTC the wiring on the engine is correct because it was working before on the same engine before it was taken apart.

Sorry for the long post, but I spend all day today trying to figure out what the heck is wrong and the only explaination is the dam timing that I can come up.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
