Sup guys,

For a while I've been wanting to do this, I've seen pics of people putting in custom shift boots. I want to do a custom Louis Vuitton shift boot, but I'm having trouble finding any pics or the fabric to make it out of. (actually i don't even know how to make a shift boot but i'll worry about that later)

So does anyone have any pics or know where i can find the material? I would like either the monogram (classic LV pattern) or the damier (boxy pattern). I mean I guess I can buy a bootleg bag, rip it up and make it but if i can get the fabric for cheaper i would rather avoid buying a bag. (even fakes are pretty damn expensive, like $200).

Here's my current interior.

Thanks in advance.

LV fabric is pretty thick iirc. Almost has a laminated texture, would be kind of hard to make a boot seeing as it doesn't flex as well.

But I'm sure there's plenty of knock off fabrics out there. Be sure to post pics when you're done.

yea i kind of figured that. i mean theres no way in hell i would use real LV bag to make a shift boot LOL. i kinda figured the fakes would flex a little more easier since it's fake? i haven't owned a fake one so i dono....

also i've been trying to search for the fake fabric for a minute...it's pretty hard to find...or i suck at researching. probably the second though.

is there something to be gained by a Louis Vuittion shift boot?

i'm sorry if it sounds offensive, but?

save the time and do something else is my suggestion...

something to be gained...i guess personal satisfaction?

i mean if i can get the fabric for cheap and if i was bored i might do it...not everyone is looking to change up the same thing in their car i guess.

Redline goods has so many different color combos that you can get almost anything from them. The cost is relatively low.The fitment is great.I'm talking really quality material.Plus they are a nico sponsor so search for discount codes in the ad dir. http://www.redlinegoods.com/clrchart.sh ... tboot.shtm

^^thanks to both of you guys!

that LV link was what i was looking for pretty much. but $65/yard seems kinda steep for just something I want to do as a joke...i might have considered if it was the checkerboard pattern though.

and i know about redline goods but my shiftboot (oem) is slightly more than a year old since i got it after my transmission swap. but yea if anyone can find more sites i'd appreciate that.

still trying to look for the same pattern as my key holder though, but if i can't find it i guess i'll either leave it alone or use the fabric.

Not looking like your car maybe? Some people like to do different things to stand out.

Definitely post pics when completed.

theres a member or two on here who have done some interior stuff with LV material. hopefully they chime in.

and making the boot is SUPER easy. just turn yours inside out and you will see how its sewed up. then just use it for a template and sew the new fabric up in the same places

i would only get it if you can get the cloth stuff because i had a LV one that was made out of the leatherish material and it didnt have any flex to it so it didnt move to well and ended up cracking because of that. or even if you can get a leather thats not as thick something the same thickness as the oem would work great but i havnt been able to.. best of luck to ya tho

another thing to think about, if you're worried about normal cloth being too flimsy and soft, you can do what i did.

awhile back i made this fugly flannel shift boot. the flannel was pretty thin so i unstitched the stock boot and cut the flannel to match the shift boot pieces. Then i used fabric glue to bond them together, then sewed it back up. worked GREAT.

a little food for thought

thanks tan that's the similar look i was going for.

i dono though, i'm starting to think it might look a little out of place with a completely stock interior. maybe if i had a aftermarket steering wheel and racing seats it might match a little better, who knows.

right now i'm just looking for the damier print, if i can find it i'll def. go for it.

When I decided I wanted a new boot I went to the fabric store, picked out a fabric, went to the local seamstress with the old boot and the new fabric and said "do it." 10 bucks later and I have a brand new boot.

THUG LIFE - Please for the love of god, don't get Monogram. I hate Monogram with a passion. Damier Canvas is all you'll ever need. We seem to have the same key holder.

You have the 4 key?We are the same.

I don't know how to get REAL damier material. I don't know if it is possible. If you find some, let me know!

^lol i didnt even notice that. yea my gf just got me the 4 key holder. i originally wanted 6 but it was too big to carry around as a key holder.

yea i'm gonna go w/ damier canvas but it seems like it's impossible to just find it alone. might have to take apart some fake bags...

ok, off topic. isnt louie vuitton or however you spell it, a chick company? i always thought that was a girl thing. idk. but yeah, you claim you're from manhatten yet you say knockoff bags are $200. i take it you've never been down to canal street to the little asian women that bring you upstairs or in the back of those little shops and sell you knockoffs and real ones for like $50-100. you just have to sort em out yourself, but i've found plenty of real ones there before. go down to canal street on a monday or wednesday in the evening like 8pm and you'll have the biggest selection. china town is the sh*t.

That is Logan's car. He was with ASPEC, but now with WORK Wheels.

ASPEC probably still has shift knobs and spin turn knobs.

Thanks BH.

So the knob is from ASPEC? I'll search around. I have a feeling it's going to be a little pricey.

EDIT: Found it for any of you that care. $100http://www.aspecproducts.com/images.asp?theid=6538
