Well I went to get the stock alloys off my truck tonight to rotate the tires and they are bonded to the truck again. They were off about 3500 miles(4 months) ago but now they are still bonded to the truck and they were like this before too, so I'm sick of that. If I ever get a flat, I want to be able to semi-easily get the wheel off to change the flat. So I found a wheel that I think looks decent, but want your opinions or other ideas if you know of a good wheel. I'll be using the tires that are on the truck now(only about 8k miles on them). I don't want to spend a lot, so keep that in mind with any ideas you have and i want stock 15" wheels. If you are good with photoshop can you photoshop this wheel on my truck or any other wheels you find.

I just read if you put antisieze compound between the wheel and rotor it will allow them to not bound. I'll have to try that and if that works, I'll keep the stockies, otherwise aftermarket here we come.

I have the same truck and I work in a tire / brake and suspension shop so listen a little close.

The M/T wheel you have pictured is a nice unit but the bare aluminum will require polishing and even then, it will dull in appearance. No real problem it's just part of uncoated wheels.

The M/T is not hub-centric and therefore will never run as true and give you a smooth ride as stock. We have a joke for years now in the shop..."never deviate from original equipment"..if you're not ready/prepared to accept less than stock ride quality.

Stay clear of all steel wheels on your truck. The only steel wheel you should use is the spare, and even then, use it only as a spare. Offroad shops have a hard sell technique to convince would-be offroaders looking for the mean offroad appearance, that steel is stronger/looks better/performs?/lasts longer.

The truth is, steel bends easier, rusts, do not spin as true, and are generally very cheap build quality. Stay clear.

i went through 3 different suspensions, 8 sets of tires and 5 sets of wheels before I reached perfection. 16" 4runner five spokes with 265/75-16 Toyo match balanced on the Hunter GSP9700.

Back to topic, of those two, get the M/T

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll try the antiseize stuff first to see if it prevents my stock wheels from coming bonded to the truck.

Not the wheel mounted on the truck, but the ones in the sample pics below. They also come in a super-neato anodized blue finish.

As gay as their wheels are....American Racing has these pretty cool black alloy wheels for trucks. There's a local explorer running around with them on it. I just can't seem to find a pic of them.

Yeah, I've turned into an OEM wheel fan as of late. Usually, they meet factory spce and the price doesn't have any "advertising" built into it, and there always someone who wanted bigger that'll let 'em go at a steal.

Search under the name "Mojave" and there's nothing gay about that wheel. 100% kick***

Very true, there are mint condition 17" '03-04 4runner alloys in my shop that I'd buy if I could find a good winter tire Nokian in a size close to 265/75-16.

So far I've used 3 sets of OEM Toyota wheels and they are wide enough to fit larger but realistic sizes and run true, and, like you said, cost is reasonable.
