Mods so sorry if this is on the wrong fourm but I feel closest to everyone on this fourm.....

Anyways, I have been talking to a wheel company about making new wheels that are more directed to the 240sx. They are interested but I need your input on what sizes, wheel offsets, and styles.

I have convinced them that they need to get more consumer input on their wheel selections and offsets. Currectly no one is really targets the FR guys but the Japanesse wheels, which are way to exspensive.

I have got with them on some ideas and they want me to get more consumer input. I think if we can show them that the 240sx guys are interested in getting better offsets and wheel selection we can keep them interested in getting the consumer inputs and make a better/ inexspensive wheel.

So lets hear it.............................

Oh yea, I think I have them sold on making the wheels in 4 and 5 lug kits with the offsets and styles we like.

Just wondering...does everyone believe in the "build it to break" philosophy? I know traction is everything but high HP with 10" meats in the back gripping everything won't that lead to breaking of other things such as differentials, driveshafts, etc?

Really, my question is, are 10" rear tires too big?

Grumpy- thanks for looking out for the 240's

I have 17x9 rear's right now that are +15 offset, and I like them, but I think a +20 or 25 would be perfect. I have just enough room for a 255/40 tire.

Nobody else is interested in this. I thought a lot of you guys would have jumped right in with some sizes and offsets.

Well I have to put all of these numbers together tonight and hand it over to them this week. SO if anyone has anymore ideas on sizes or offsets, write it down......

Thanx,Grumpy

I would be interested in either 16 or 17 by 8's for the front and 16 or 17 by 9's in the rear for the four lug vehicles.

What ever they are, they should be light. Under 10 pounds combined would be really nice.

a 17 by 8 for all 4 would work fine for me. clearing the z brakes, or the supra brake kit you offer, and coilovers without spacers.

I really don't want to do the 5 lug conversion for my S13 just to get some decent wheels :)

Thanx guys........

This is the info and support I need to show them. If I can get enough info and show them there is a market for these sizes, offsets, and 4/5 lug wheels. Then I can get them to make some wheels for us 240 guys with out taking a arm and a leg too......

Keep it coming. I am going to start pulling the data in a few hours. Got to set up the spreedsheet first............................

we definitely need 8.5", 9", 9.5", and 10" FOUR LUGS... it is always the case that if you want to go wider than 8's these damn wheel manufacturers make you convert to five lug. Not exactly too sure on offsets but i know a lot of people would love some decent lippage... so I will say offsets that range from 0mm to 30mm. This way we got offsets for stock fenders, offsets for slightly pulled fenders, and offsets for widebody or fender flares(which I will be using)

I use Welds for drag racing. Not much else interests me, I will note that most manufacturers only go 7" wide on most rims. I'd like to see 8-10's more readily available.

But we'll see how far this goes. I'll let this hang here for a day or two Grump, if we get some good replies. I'm also gonna copy it to the wheel and tire section.
