Hey you guys!!! I know that this is not the VG forum and I already have this posted in there but its not alot of traffic in there like it is in here so I have a situation that I have questions about...........I have a Z31 (300zx 1988) and I wanted to do the VG30DETT swap instead of the RB swap or the SR swap or the actual turbo swap becuase I want a newer motor and the Z feel along with the TT feel.......One person has told me that custom mounts and a coustom driveshaft aren't needed and all that is needed is switching the harnesses (using the VG30DETT harness instead of the stock harness). Is that all that is needed for the swap because I have googled it thousands of times but I couldnt find anything to help me out.....all answers will be appreciated!!!!thanks!!!!!

I would think that the VG mounts would remain the same, but my concern would be with space issues in the engine bay, and the fab work that would have to be done to house the VG30DETT.

You may try calling your local Nissan dealer, or posting in the Nissan & Infiniti Engineering Talk Forum to find out the differences in the Z31 and Z32 trannys.
