i don't have a tach to compare the rpms to. the only way i would be able to adjust it is to set the tach at idle to around 900 rpms. so a friend of mine gave me his auto meter tach adapter.

ah, well the wire you are looking for is pin 7 on the ecu plug.yellow with a dark blue tracer.ive found 'borrowing' a tach from advance auto works, use it for 5 min then return it claiming it doesnt read on your car.

The tach adapter makes the stock Tach work???

I have a Defi Tach and it did work just connecting it to the #7 pin on the ecu.

Alright I looked at that wiring diagram and it doesn't use the tach output wire. The red wire is hooked up to ignition power (ON power) and the red/green wire is hooked up to the positive wire on the #1 coil. This would be AF90 on the RB25 wiring diagram which is black and red out of the ignitor. Crap, since you have a seriesII motor your wire to the #1 coil will come directly out of the ecu and lead to the coil. Somebody else can chime in and help you with that or you can trace the wire through your harness with a multimeter and tap into it under the dash for a cleaner install.

Hope that helped.
