Need wiring help/advice

I am going to add LED's light strips under the dash and want them to work with the map/dome lights. Does anyone know which of the wires in the series that control this. I did add homelink and don't want to hook them up to this because there are constant feed.

I saw a post about radar dectector hook up up I want the LEDs to work when you open the door and so on.

Read Leo2005's post regarding rear view mirror connectors:

One of those wires is controlled by the door switch. Just use a voltmeter to confirm which one. I could not decipher the wiring diagrams as they color coded and the wiring in Leo's post is not. So no help regarding exactly which wire you need.

BTW it's not controlled directly by the door switch, rather the BCM (body computer) reads the door switch and remote key fob to determine if the dome lights should be on. This also means DO NOT power your LED's directly from the door switch, it's a low voltage computer signal... not a 12V power source!

Thanks for the reply, what I want to do is remove the map light housing and tap into those wires to the LEDs and have them work with the map lights, hope somebody knows.

thats what I did. I tap the strip lights into my map lights so when I turn the left side map light on, the strip light on the left side will come on too. Same thing happen when I opens the door.

That's almost like in infinity fx35 except when you open left door all lights are dimmed but left one above the door and on map light is bright.

I am sorry I don't have any pictures when I install the strip light,which was over a year ago. But you can use the volt meter to check the wires behind the map light. You need to first take out the housing of the map light. Check which wires is hot when you open the door or turn on the map light. Thats the wire you need to tap it to.
