Hi,
I have 2001 Pathfinder and water is getting in the lower window seal on the front right door. So much that it totally soaks the floor. The part is no longer available through Nissan. I found an eBay seller in Thailand that sells them after market. I am hoping someone may know the best place to order one or if any other suggestions I would be best appreciative. I believe it’s called Window Belt Weather Strip. It rains in buckets here in Costa Rica so I need to do it right.
Thank you for any advice
Sloan

Here is a photo but of the other side. The leaky side has gorilla tape on it now.

If water is getting into the car because of that door, then your door drains are clogged. Those seals don't really seal, they're intended to prevent wind noise and debris but not water. There will be two or three small slots or holes someplace at the base of the door (usually underneath a rubber strip) which are supposed to let water run out. If they're all obstructed, water will reach the let holes in the inner door panel and it will overflow behind the outer panel.

Thank you Vstar650cl. I’ll check but I don’t think they are clogged. I read a couple posts where water went in and came out by the speaker.
I’ll take a look though. The gorilla tape over that strip did either stop it or almost stop it. When it rains here it’s heavy duty like a hose running on it for hours.
But I will check
Thank you.

The drain holes had the slightest amount of very small, loose piece of maybe a leaf or tiny twig. Surely not enough to say it was blocked. Even with the tape on I got some water by the edges of the tape and water came out the holes now. On the other front door I ran the hose over it and yes the water came out the drain holes pretty fast. I still thing the rubber I think needs replacing is so stiff and so far away from the glass that 100% of the water hitting the window goes in and it’s like a water fall in there. I have the tape on now but 8” lengths areas let’s say it’s 1/16” gap. Sure I don’t want to run around in circles changing the existing rubber but that’s the only door that does it and that’s the only one that’s so blatantly bad.
You have me thinking that some badly work was done on that door a ways back and maybe there is supposed to be a deflector that directs the water outwards and without it the water is coming towards the inner panel and thus coming in.

If it's coming out around the speaker then maybe someone removed the plastic vapor barrier. Have you had the trim panel off to take a look at exactly where the water is intruding?

If you need a cheap but ugly quick-fix, some closed cell self-stick foam from the hardware store should work to cover the damaged area and seal against the window.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will try the Thailand product that is supposed to replace this and also pull the door panel off at that time to see what was done in there. Here in Costa Rica things aren’t usually done to spec which i expect will leave me to find things not right inside. . Sort of goes how it goes here.
But the gap is excessive now and it rains inches an hour when it does.
Thanks again
