need window help

hey, i have a 89 240sx coupethere is something wrong with my drivers side window, it will go down but it will not come up,

if i want to get it back up i have to pry it up with my hands,

when i push the button for it to go back up, i hear a whirring sound, but it doesn't move

any help would be apprecaited

sounds like either the motor has internally torn torn the rubber that mounts to the regulator pivot block. or the regulator itself has broke. by your description it doesent sound like its binding. so i would guess its the internal motor problem

since you have to replace one or the other pull it out of the door first inspect the regulator. if it is broken it will be obvious visually. if its not broke you know its the motor for sure and since both have to come out as a unit you'll already be halfway done replacing the broken part.
