Silly question? You mean stupid question!!! No cars have air bags in the rear!! Plus, air bags deploy on the impact side of the car!Urq wrote:I know this might be a silly question but did your cars air bag not go off?or do tiids even have them?in the photos i do not see any that were deployed.
Not really stupid. I wouldn't have been surpised if there were sensors in the rear. But apparently not and the side and front airbags should deploy with side or front impact.Scuba Steve wrote:

Hey mister wizard tell us why a impact like that would not set off every airbag in that car.Scuba Steve wrote:

Mr URG: read this! It's straight from the Nissan Versa service manual. Sensors are on the side and front. hit from the front front airbag deploys, side impact, side curtain deploys!! Dummy!Urq wrote:Hey mister wizard tell us why a impact like that would not set off every airbag in that car.
I don't think that was called for, from either you or him. You could have simply corrected him in the first place without the negativity. We've already settled enough of these problems this year, we do not need anymore. Thank you.Scuba Steve wrote:

If it was just replacing the hatch and bumper, I would agree. But that much pushed in is a ton of work to fix both rear quarter panels, rear floor/spare tire area, inside the rear, under the car in the rear, etc.vkheifets wrote:Is everybody seeing the same car I am. I do not see that crazy of damage. I have seen many more cars with much less of a impact and be fixed. The real value is up front. The engine the airbags and all of the other components up there. this is not that expensive of a fix.
I agree. Sell the car for what it's worth, all the body parts, engine, suspension, wheels, interior assets etc. You will gain much more in the long run.blind_snyper wrote:could probably sell the hood/grill/bumper and i think fenders as a tiida conversion for quite a bit.
