okay ... so I'm missing a connection on my 5-spd transmission ... according to the FSM its the "Top (4th) Position Switch" (see pic for better description) ... I need to know if this is what is causing my tachometer not to work, or what it does ... and do i need to run wires to it? ... uhmm sorry to be so vague i don't know how else to describe it ... I heard DeviousKA might be able to help ... any help is appreciated, for I am teh noob thanks!

Either way you should really get that thing fixed. It shouldn't be that hard to replace unless the wire is cut, then you got some solder work. If you don't notice anything else acting funny then I would think that's your speedometer.

NONE of the transmission sensors read engine RPMS

Check your ECU/TACH wiring

The 4th and top (5th) is for the speed limiter and cruise control activation. Thanks for posting that pic, I was looking for that!

So if I disconnected the 4th top sensor that would get rid of my governor? Any drawbacks to doing that? I'm hooking up my transmission right now from my engine swap, might as well do it if that's only thing it does.

Who needs a governor at 120 anyways... pffft.. I go all the way... on the track of course

Auto ECU does NOT have speed governor

Auto 240 are speed governed via the auto ecu not the engine ECU (to my best knowledge)
