Hey guys. I think I'm gonna be needing a KAde transmission pretty soon. The last I herd was there a dime a dozen. (Probably because of all you sr swapers.)

Well, I live on the central coast of California and was wondering if anybody had one. If not, What checks should I go through when I go to look a rebuilt one, or one from a junk yard?

Also what can I expect to pay? Thanks everyone.

Nice. What are the differences between the ka and sr trani's? Is 3rd and up geared higher to get faster spool?

#1 - This is the wrong place for this thread it should be in the WTB forum.

#2 - You spelled transmission wrong. If you want to abbreviate, at least do it right.

#3 - SR trannys work with the KA (CA too) but they are geared a little differently. All you would need to do is swap bellhousings.

Quit trying to be a mod, yes he did ask if anybody had one but he also had some questions and this is the place for that.If you don't like it, move on.

Okay, his first question was what would he look for in a rebuilt one. Unless you have experience and can really tell, there's not much you can do. The best way to get it checked out would be to go to somewhere like Aamco and get it inspected.

His second question was what can he expect to pay. Prices vary. Some people like to overcharge. I've seen people give them away for free. The norm is about 100-150 as stated ^.

So really, this thread did not even need to be created. He could have used his common sense and hand+mouse to look around at what KA trannys were/are going for. And once he found one, he could bring a knowlegible friend along/get transmission inspected to verify the condition.

I'm not trying to be a mod, it's just that threads like this are pretty much pointless.
