So there is this local "car club". We really aren't a club per se, just a group that hangs out every Friday night. There is a wide selection of cars there (SR S13s, my CA S13, JZA80 turbo, SW20 turbo, FD3S, Hondas a plenty, low riders, domestics) I walk up some friends of mine, and there is this new guy there. Well apparently he is a rich kid from West Lake (Austin) just out of high school. 18. He had an S4, then had a STi which he toatled, then his daddy bought him a Z06 and modded it for him. Well, he asks me why my car is so loud. "KA-T?" "Nope" "SR?" "Nope. The best one...CA." "Ha, you mean the worst one. 1.8l..."

Ok you little pr|ck. He begins to tell me how he has friends w/ built SRs and he knows his stuff. I let his punk self know that if he did some research, he might learn that the CA is a technologically better motor. He tells me that he isn't your normal domestic guy and that he knows all about Nissans (having never owned one himself). I tell him to STFU and that he is a "f'ing kid whos daddy supes up his car for him" He walked away with the sound of laughter at hsi expense following him, and he quickly left. Luckily, he is the first guy EVER to tell me crap like that. Too bad my SR buddies weren't there to let him know that yes: I have the better motor (kinda cool that the local SR guys acknowledge that fact :D). Sorry for the rant guys, but I just needed to vent...:)

i met a kid a few weeks ago, not as ignorant as that guy but still. He walks up to my car and ask what year it is . I say '87. He says oh what model it is. me "Pulsar". He then went on to say how he just bought a 87 200sx(s12) and how hes gunna be putting a SR20 in it. I just told him he should put the CA in it because it drops right in where as the SR will need custom mounts ect. He says nah because he couldnt find a CA for the price of an SR. He then walked away before i could tell him he wasnt looking very hard. Also of course he didnt have the car with him so who wknows if he even has one.

A few months before that i met a kid that wanted to race me with his other car. His other car was a 240sx with the " uh...uh... i cant think of the name of it....uh.... the silvia motor. Yea i put am AEM cold air intake on it"

It took alot not to laugh right in his face, but anyways i told him yea ill look for you around. ahahah

I've only met one guy who even know what the heck a CA was and he called it as soon as he saw it. He's got a nice Z32 and he knows his Nissan's pretty well. I was impressed, plus he's pretty cool. The only other person that didn't just look at it like WTF, was this kid who thought it was an RB. I actually laughed at him. He didn't appreciate it much for some reason though....

you know, I thought we all drove importas 'cause we loved how they could make insane power out of small engines.

yet, I hear the displacement argument more from import guys than guys with V8s.

ignorant morons, pushing me away from cars more and more each day.

Hang in there buddy. Last time you left you came back. It's a disease and you can't be cured. Just stick with it man, it'll be satisfying one of these days.

Well, the domestics are right: there is NO replacement for displacement. BUT a turbo is a nice compensation ;)

true, and you could argue the point till you're blue in the face with no result or reason it'd be a total waste of time. I do like V8s, though. A stroked Windsor 351 in the back of a ERA Replicas GT40 would own me. :D

If I knew I could have taken his Z06 I would have asked him if he wanted to put his daddies money where is mouth was. :D

haha, awesome. i never have people ask me what my engine is because for the most part, the car people i see/hang out with are pretty competent and my car is apparently (no idea why, i dont hang out w/ the racer/ricer croud much) pretty well known.

the one person who i did pop the hood for right after i got it running reconized it immediately (though had never seen one in person) and even told me how to convert the engine to run on 3 vacuum lines and stuff. good guy, last i heard of him he got his s15 powered s13 finished and moved out of town.

the response i get the most though is "oh, cool. ive got a buddy with a sr20det in his s13, itll be out at the races on (insert day of weekend here), you should come by and check out each others cars"
