So I just got my car back after they had it two days and the rear defroster switch is still not working after they replaced the whole assembly. They said that it could be in the wiring and that b/c I have an aftermarket radio that it would cost like $300 for them to find it and fix it! Only time will tell if they were able to fix my information display since the problem is intermittent. But I was so pissed off at that place that I didn't even realize that the Air Bag light was blinking until I was on my way home. I am going to complain to NissanUsa. Could anyone tell me what the problem may be with the defroster button? You can hear it click on but the light doesn't light up! Also, would installing an aftermarket Stereo void my warranty? It is connector to connector, it is not like I spliced wires.

Ok, so I took my car to Jones Junction Nissan b/c they are the only dealership within an hour of me. I took it in b/c the information display below the speedo fades to completely blank. It was blank for about 3 days straight, well go figure on the day I take it up there it comes back on and they say there is nothing wrong with it even after I show them the TSB on it! I also took it up there because the rear defroster doesn't light up, but you can hear it click on. They ordered the part and should be replacing that. I also wanted them to check on the airbag recall, and I am 99% sure they didn't because for them to check all 3 things, my car was done in 25 minutes with of coarse their "quality inspection service". Anyways, got in the car today and the damn display was out again. Look in the pictures as it fades in and out.

I guess when I go up there to have the A/C controls replaced, I will have to print these pictures b/c you know it won't be acting up when you take it, it never does!

According to the TSB, it doesn't look that hard to fix, but I shouldn't have to by principle.

I called just the other day to set up an appt for the recall check. Its very obvious mine needs replaced but I guess they will only be checking it. Anyway, they said that typically takes 35-45 minutes. So you are right that doesnt add up.
