I need to top off my coolant and was wondering if Zerex G-05 is ok to use?

Here is an application chart by Valvoline:http://www.valvoline.com/zerex...A1AFC

Here is some product info and specs:http://www.valvoline.com/pages...ct=10

The other question is, is it necessary or would it be a good idea to open up the heater core completely by doing the following procedure:

Turn ignition switch from "OFF " to "ON". Within 10 seconds after ignition switch is turned "ON", press off switch for at least 5 seconds.Press red heat arrow (HOT) switch 3 times. Press (DEF) switch 2 times, display should read 43. Wait 10 seconds before turning ignition switch off. (This step is necessary to allow heater water c*** to open wide.)Add coolant (50/50 mixture with distilled water.)

the G-05 is a hybrid OAT. i suppose since it's hybrid it is claimed to be compatible with either green or orange (orange being full oat).

why do you need to top off?

you might want to consider topping with some watter wetter (if you don't already use it) or distilled H2O if you are running ww. unless your mix is at the threshold of oxidation, the lower the ratio of AF to water, the cooler the engine will run. unless you are in deep freeze (i know, i know Canada), 30 Af: 70 water is the dope.

When I changed the thermostat a while back I think I didn't top off enough coolant. I heard a gurgle once a nd checked the level and it was low.

I thought I added one bottle of water wetter at the time of my last coolant flush. I'm going to check and confirm.

I only use distilled water if I have to mix and I tend to run a 50/50 mix. Should I change the ratio?

Zerex time already. I'll be doing a 20,000 mile coolant system flush this year with distilled water. I need to flush and change all (5) vehicles this year.

Use a 50/50 or ~33.3/~66.6 mix distilled water to Zerex ratio? It rarely gets below 30 degrees here in January with the possibility of a low or around 20 degrees for a day or two..
