Need to take stock stereo out of 1985 720 pickup 2wd

Hello,

Does anyone know how to take out the stock stereo of a 1985 Nissan 720 pickup kingcab 2wd. Not the hardboady... You do not have to take out the dashboard do you? I've tried putting objects inbetween the sides of the stereo frame and what not and prying it off but it just chipped them... any ideas?
