Can someone tell me definitively yes or no as to whether or not the G35 will cut off the AC if you are accelerating with the pedal on the floor? Is this an option that _any_ cars have? if so, which ones?

I tried the ac on full, really cold, and floored it on a straight stretch of road, several times, and the ac never cut off nor warmed up. the car accelerated noticeably better once i turned off the AC

thanks!

yes...alot of cars will cut off the compressor under full throttle. you probably won't notice it though cause its not like you are driving full throttle for 5 min straight

I always thought the loss of AC under hard acceleration had to do with the high pressure switch/sensor cutting power to the compressor to save the systems seals?

Since late 70's Nissan has used a compressor cutoff...............read/study your FSM to learn the 10,000 other things you may not know about vehicle.

A good one is the summer overheat protective software that starts at 195-200F coolant where ignition advance is progressively cut in 5F increments until 220F. The same thing applies when ambient air exceeds 100F inside MAF.

Q45Tech - how does somebody get their hands on an FSM (I'm assuming that's Field Service Manual?) I'm guess you need to shell out excess of $200 to purchase one? If I could get one for cheap, I'd be really interested.
