I damaged one of my aftermarket wheels on the J that can't be repaired. The style of wheel has been discontinued, so now I have to buy a whole new set of wheels.

I've read that the widest wheel I can put on the J is 8". Is that true? I found a GREAT deal on a set of wheels that are 18x7.5" in the front and 18x8.5" in the back. Will this be ok?

I have 20X8.5 all the way around, you can put 10 in the rear if the offset is right. our cars have a front wheel drive offset, so make sure the wheels fit before you buy them.

Im just curious, how was the wheel damaged? We fix wheels on occassion (when things are slow) at our shop as long as the damage is on the inside of the wheel, which is typical, less support. We have successfully worked slight bends and welded cracks out of wheels. It seems like a good welding shop would be able to repair it for you, much cheaper than a new set.

Thanks! Good to be back. I went ahead and ordered the wheels. They came in Friday and fit. The offset is 32, I believe. 18x7.5 in the front and 18x8.5 in the back. They look HOT! I'll take some pics this week and will post them.

The wheel had a crack inside the wheel from a chunk of concrete that was on the street. I hit it going about 40 mph, didn't see it til it was too late. I had one guy look at it and said he couldn't fix it. I was driving on a spare for about a week so I went ahead and bought new wheels. I got a GREAT deal on a set; only paid $289 shipped.

I'll definitely keep this in mind should I have this kind of damage again. I didn't think anyone could fix it.
