I had my fuel pump go out about 3 years ago. Well, after I changed it out, my car wouldn't start ('95 240sx SE). I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, until a talk with a Nissan tech from a dealership. He told me that they sometimes have a problem with flooding and what I need to do is remove the fuel pump fuse, try to crank her over and as soon as she starts, plug the fuse back in. It's a pian in the *** to do, but it works. Problem is it will do this once about every 2-3 months. What is causing my car to flood like that? The smeel it gives off almost smells like starter fluid, really ethery.

Also when I have my heater on past the second notch, I can smell fuel vapors coming through the vents, but only ocassionally. Any clue on this?

when you remove the fuse, you are allowing the engine to turn over without any fuel going to it, but when it starts the fuse must be replaced to keep it running. use a fuel pressure gauge to see if your system holds pressure when you remove they key to make sure an injector isn't stuck open.

Where do I tee it in? Between the fuel rail and filter? The injectors are pretty old, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them.

Is that difficult to remove and replace?

Also, could one of those problems be the cause of the fuel vapor smell coming through my air vents?
