Well, seeing that I now have my winter wheels on, the sports are pretty banged up, and I need to get them refinished. I know, via the search, that you can not get the OEM paint due to the lead content. If I could Fed-X a gallon of the OEM paint to my front door, I would. Anyway, in looking at Google images, it looks like the Hyper Black is closer to OEM then the Hyper Silver. Image The silver version looks a bit too light to me...... But then again, there are too many variables to the images. Here are 2 examples...

Advan Hyper Black : http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8462/8056 ... 9711_h.jpg

Advan Hyper Silver : http://www.gmpperformance.com/CFJFiles/GMP/17708.jpg

I really like the hyper black in the image. I did a search, but didn't see anyone here that had their rims refinished in the hyper black. Anyone have any images of their sport rims refinished? I could just take them to the dealer and let them refinish them and save the hassle. Suggestions?

My wheels clear coat are peeling off and I plan on refinishing my wheels since i have some curb checks. I am planning on stripping and sanding things down and go down with a Polish finish... as soon as i find time that is. its pretty vigorous work but its wells worth it

Have you seen hyper black rims in person? They are definitely pretty dark in most angles, I woudlnt call them close to stock Infiniti wheels.
But you should still go with hyper black, it looks sexy

Unless you really already do have the hyper black Infiniti rims? Because it is possible to get some from the dealer. My friend used to run official Infiniti G37 rims (on his g37) that were hyper black. The dealership ordered them for him when he bought the car. I would say most angles the black is closer to this:

I would do dark, if my car wasn't dark already, I am not too much into the really dark car look, gotta have some BLING! but true the color would look sick on most cars. But i have the Blue Slate color on my ride

Thanks for the responses. In doing a little more digging I believe I have found a closer match than the Hyper Black. It is called a Smoked Hyper Silver :

Image

......a black basecoat with a Hyper Silver topcoat with a clearcoat, this creates a Smoked Silver finish that is about 2 shades darker than a normal silver wheel with a very dynamic finish that changes greatly depending on the light...

I refinished my wheels not too long ago.
Was worth the time and effort in my opinion, but I like doing this type of stuff

I might do them over in a more metallic finish if I can make some time to.

That Smoked Hypersilver looks good. Where can you buy it? I would consider refinishing my 19" Sport wheels with that product.

It appears to be more of a paint process than an actual color.
