dude, what?

Ok Im guessing this is what you need

pull out the first cyinder spark plug.

crank the engine till you see compression on it.

roll it over to where the 0* mark on th crank and notch on the cover line up

cool, throw the CAS on there. rotate the cas to match the camshaft gear.

hook the clamp around the middle wire to the first coilpack. works best there.

start car warm it up. Cant remember what you disconnect. Somone chime in?

shine it on the notch.

align it to 15* BTDC.

basically

Unless you messed with the mechanical timing (such as taking off the timing belt and putting it on out of timing) you shouldn't be worried about bending valves.

Like it was said earlier about installing the CAS put it on TDC and ..... follow instructions.

Your local parts store should be able to loan you out a timing gun to get it right on 15*.

However, if you don't set it up on correct ignition timing you'll experience some drivability issues. Why play short cut with your investment now when its not more than an hour worth of work and $20 el cheapo timing gun/

Good luck

Yes you can just mark it and reinstall in the same position. The cas is keyed and will only go in one way.

But it's still nuts to go months without checking timing.

you better learn how timing works.. if you advance it too far you'll run lean....

Just get a timing gun, they're only 30 bux if you look around.. Or borrow one from a friend.. no point risking a $5000 setup by neglecting to do a standard procedure...
