I have been having a small slow coolant leak since the car has been back (got into minor front end collision). I searched the forums and found that it could be 1 of 2 things (or maybe both).

1 - replace the water pump2 - replace the coolant hose behind motor (between firewall and motor)

I was planing on replacing both any way. The question is, I purchased a Greddy pully set that said replaces the water pump. Did I read this correct? If it is in fact the water pump that is going bad, when I put the pully set on, will it fix the problem?

Thank you in advance!

Radiator. If it was a front end collision it most likely wouldn't have effected anything behind the motor.

The radiator stays full though, and from what I read with the search I did someone else was having the same problem and it was the water pump. So just say that it is the pump, would the pully kit fix the problem or would I need to buy the pully kit AND a new water pump? Now if it is the radiator, can it be fixed or not? It's brand new Koyo radiator and it would suck to just trash it.

The collision wasn't too bad, this it what it looked like before it went off to the body shop.

Thank you,

You need to:

Identify where is it leaking from...If is the water pump....look under lower section of the pump, there is a little breathing hole that tends to leak coolant after the pump fails. Replacing the pulley is not going to fix your water pump. A new pulley or timing chain requires that the water pump gets replaced....is not mandatory, but it will be nice. Due to the new added strain of the new parts on the water pump. If is not the pump, then is a radiator hose or radiator....Good luck!

Replaces the water pump PULLEY, not the pump. It is a lighter pulley less parasitic power draw so you get more power to the wheels. The pump will have to be replaces if it is bad. amolao is right. When the bearings in the pump fail, the pump will begin to leak through this little "weep hole". Thats actualy what it is for. Does the car over heat at idle or at all? If the pump fails the car will overheat, you said you had a coolant leak, but does the car overheat at all, or is it so slow a leak that you refill it every three days or so. If the car does not overhat when you drive and you pick up no liquid from under the pump, i would avoid the water pump and check the radiator far cracks arond the end tanks. The hose behind the engine is probably the heater hose. It should not leak unless you run the heater, if it leaks your floorboard will get wet.
