Hey there, my best friend just bought a 2000 Acura Integra GS-R w/ I/H/E and some wider tires, I told him that my 92 240SX SE Coupe has a chance of beating him, am I out of my mind or can I actually take him (I am a better driver than he is)

IMO it's about 50% driver and 50% car in general. His car is probably faster than yours, but if you can out drive him, you have a chance. A good race would be to race then switch cars and do it again.

OK You will lose. He has a 2000 GSR; stock with 170hp and with intake, header, and exhaust probably 180hp. You have a 1992 240sx SE with 155hp stock and 180k miles on the engine. You're engine has a lot more wear and tear so is producing less horsepower (prob around 140-145) plus the FWD setup of the GSR is more efficient at putting the power at the ground. His car is also lighter by a couple hundred pounds. And for driving skill; it doesnt matter much with this difference in power unless he misshifts or doesnt know a thing about launching.

you'll probably lose, but damnit! this country wasn't built by losers that didn't buck the ****in' odds.

race him and find out.

and if you're not sure, better not bet any money...

and don't make another vs. thread, I hate these damn things!

touge literally means "mountain pass" even if the pass is a freakin 8-lane freeway that's almost straight. if it goes over a mountain, it's a touge

chllange him in drifting? that's lame

having a rwd drivetrain advantage isn't fair if you want to race by "drifting"

even though a fwd, gsr produce more horse power, rev higher, variable valves timing, better power band, better suspension, you will very likely lose

yeah fwd is easier to drive fast than rwd because if you **** up you just have to lift off throttle and steer more and your car wont spin out as much. RWD is still better overall but if you dont have any skills driving rwd the fwd will beat you.
