200 is on the cheap end, 500 is on the expensive end, dont go any higher than that

a rebuild done by you might cost 300, it might cost 1300, but if its someone else, depending on what you have done, expect in the thousand+ range

Would it be adviseable to prep the motor for turbo when you rebuild it?

I have 197k on my motor and I'm really debating on whether I should do the motor turbo on rebuild or go for the package and get the SR. I look on the KA-T board and see that a lot of people are having problems. I know that can happen with any motor of course but if you set that motor up wrong in the slightest way you get boost spike or something even more miniscule and blow it.

SR sounds more delightful but MUCH more expensive

Any imput here? Constructive criticism is needed here lol.

personally i would have everything in the internals forged to be on the safe side... but when u get a boost spike dont count on the injectors to keep up unless u got big ones..

if you want to go turbo you COULD replace pistons and everything but you will loose hp w/ lower comp and being n/a

okay i rebuilt my motor (this is wholesale so it may be a lil bit more for you) 800 got me.... oil pump/front timing coverpistonsvalve stem sealsall gaskets exhaust/intake/valve cover ectbearingsALL seals freeze plugs(there may be something else but this is off the top of my head)

i had to get a rod machined which was also another 50 bucks...

sometimes its better to get a used one and sometimes its better to rebuilt... all up to you I guess (if you decide to go used- be sure you get a lower milage w/ a start-up warrenty)
