I tried searching, I'm looking for the specific posting I seen before on cleaning the TB on the KA DOHC, by spraying the hose connected to the intake with intake cleaner.

Which hose is this?? out of the two....

thanks

Aside from cleaning the inner bore, the part you want to focus on is the tiny hole at the bottom of where the throttle plate closes.

That leads to a small nipple on the outside of the TB and needs to be clean for smooth idle.

Cleaning the TB is easy... I don't recall cleaning any hoses, but it couldn't not help, right?

Just take the intake/piping (if its stock it's platic) Clean the TB... be sure you lift the plate in the middle and clean as far back as you can.

I used brake cleaner from advanced. Worked awesome. Spray it inside or on a rag and go to work!!

This pic is of an sr20 tb but it basically looks the same. DONT FORGET to lift the gold plate and clean behind it too! Good Luck

Just a side note--use Carb Cleaner--brake cleaner is harder on seals. careful how much you spay--you do not want a bunch getting down into the oil pan.

My buddy removed the TB and left it in a can of diesel over night, like new when he picked it up.

I use brake cleaner (alcohol) to clean them, works fine.

I will give Diesel a try--does Diesel clean all the varnish off? is it like using ATF or Marvel mystery oil--(I have used both in cleaning)
