So, using my new boost controller, I find it needs to be routed to the wastegate and to a souce that has boost pressure. i.e. the hotpipe.

So, I need to have a nipple ran on the hotpipe for the vaccum line.

Should I:

A) Have someone weld in a piece of aluminum piping (if so, where can I find a piece of aluminum tubing?)

or

B) Drill and tap a whole, screw in a brass barb fitting? (not sure if this is safe/will work with aluminum)

I always got the feeling that one of those things would eventually leak. What I did was remove the compressor outlet elbow, and drill/tap it to accommodate a brass plumbing fitting that I picked up at the hardware store.

I know plumbing stuff has tapered threads but in the ~1/4" of aluminum it threaded into there wasn't any interference and it snugged down nicely. I used a bead of JB Weld around the outside to make sure it was air tight and I can comfortably say it's never going to fail for any reason.

I'm using the quick tap from frsport as well. I've never had any issues and installation was easy.
