I want to use these turbos that i have on my rb26 but i want to rebuilt them. I also want all new cooling lines for the turbos. Does garret handle all of this or who can do it?

the n1 turbo is a plain jane bush bearing t25, any competent turbo shop can rebuild it.

these are ceramic ball bearing. 60 ar. Fit exactly like the stock turbos did. Am i wrong? This is just what i was told from a trusted friend. I get em for 100 bucks. I was told they can push 550whp which is what i was looking for. Am i a dumbass?

i was under the impression they were journal bearing turbos with better wheels, altho 550whp is a bit optimistic methinks.there is a large thread on skylinesaustralia about the n1 turbos...does the turbo spin REALLY easily and keep spinning for a good several seconds after you let go, if so its proly bb.

they do spin very easily and keep spinning. Im positive they are ball bearing turbos. Do you know the best way to contact garret to have them rebuilt? And also i wanted all new oil and water lines for the turbos but dont know of a website that sells them (aftermarket ss braided lines even better) and one more thing. The threads on for one of the water or oil lines (i dont know which) is stripped. Im not sure if a helio coil will fix it or not but any ideas. And as far as the turbos one is suppose to push 300+ hp so x2 should be around 600 or is that just not the way it works?

most shops wont touch a bb center section, they are usualy just replaced.as for the lines ive seen helicoils fitted but if its an oil feed thats stripped that will proly require a shop to do it, you wont be able to clean that out.as for as the n1 being able to support 300hp worth of air flow (one turbo) i highly doubt its capable of that...if you want something like that look into twin gt-ss or gt2530's.

how much are the gt-ss turbos and do they fit like stock as the n1 and 2530's do? what kind of price am i looking at? what about a single responsive turbo that makes 550? which is better on my wallet?

i could answer that but honestly your best bet is to start looking around...see what other people have run and if you havent checked it out check out the huge turbine upgrade thread on skylinesaustralia.com .

As a general rule, bigger HP numbers come from bigger turbos (and other mods). Bigger turbos generally lag more. So finding a 550 WHP turbo, you are pretty much inevetibly going to have it lag more than a stock setup. BB turbos spool more quickly than their counterparts, but take a look at the compressor map and see where effiency plateau is at your given boost level, or the boost level you'll need to see 550 WHP. Then you will be able to figure out what RPM it will get "on boost".
