I'm going to to be getting a baseline dyno done soon. First question: I remember hearing about Wes's suggestion to someone to unplug the TCU so it would stay in a certain gear. Can Wes or someone explain what this is about?

Second: Anyone in the Phoenix area know of a good place to get a dyno done? I have a few possibilities but it would be nice to have a referral from someone that knows.

Also, any other advise any of you that have done it can give would be helpful.

I'd reccomend UMS Tuning in Tempe, or Intense in Mesa. Either one will give you great service.

Never heard of either, I'll look them up. Got a location/phone for them so I don't have to look them up? Thanks

Can someone fill me in on the TCU disconnect procedure? Wes...anyone?

Whenever you disconnect the TCU it will force the car to stay in 3rd gear. There is a plethora of other sensors you could disconnect to force this condition.

Thanks. Is that the control unit in the drivers kick panel? Also, could I just unplug the "kick down switch" at the accelerator pedal to keep it from down shifting?
