I am getting a Hotshot header for my 98 s14a. It replaces the factory cat that is hidden in the downpipe after the manifold. I need to find out where I can purchase a "three way cat" (as NISTECH calls it) with flanges already attached to replace the cat under the drivers seat that is just a hollow shell. I would prefer a high flow cat, but if all i can find is a regular factory replacement that would work as well. I visited my local muffler shop and they quoted me around 350 to install a cat with both sides flanged. No way am I willing to pay that much for this bolt in application. It seems that it would be easy to just weld up a couple of flanges to a cat that would fit.

So if anyone can help me find this, I would appreciate it greatly.

"98 s14a bolt in replacement three way cat to replace the fake factory cat."

I found this one where apparently on the 95 with an automatic transmission, the cat under the seat was not fake. Could someone with a 95 check to see if they have the front mount cat in the header downpipe also?

Here is the link:

Not sure if this will work, but it would be an economical solution.

Vengance - Can you give me a link where i can purchase one with the flanges on it already for the application that i explained? I know the name "Catco" and a couple of others, but i haven't found one that i can bolt in on the web.

Here is the other one that I have found. Does anyone know if this will replace the fake one under the driver's seat?

I measured the fake just a minute ago. It is exactly 12.5 inches from outer flange edge to outer flange edge. Maybe the factory replcaement will work the best for this application, but i would hate to sacrifice performance to do so.

Thanks BuudWeizErr, that is exactly what I was looking for. Now I just need to find a little better price on it. Would i be wrong to assume by the looks of this, Any stock cat from a 91-94 would fit in that position on an s14?

PM's don't work, and you are probably subscribed to the thread now anyway. Sounds like it is more than just me that needs this.

You are going to have a hell of a time finding abetter price than HT with flanges already mounted. Just buy it already, you can sell your dummy cat for like 50 or 60 bucks on ebay.

And yes, downpipes/cat's are interchangable between LHD, RHD, SR20, KA24, S13, S14, probably S15.

I have a brand new CatCo 3" high flow cat for an S14. I got it for my KA24DE-T project, but it turns out that the SR downpipe I got is about 1/2" too short to bolt up to it properly, so I'm going to use a 1/2" longer test pipe instead.

So, if you want you can have it for $100, which includes shipping. That's cheaper than you would be able to get one otherwise, so help me out and I'll help you out.

Email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

Anyone think it will make a difference whether or not i get a 3" cat like the one from HT? I am N/A and don't plan on going turbo for a while. (As you can tell by me putting on a header.)

The 3" cat seems like it wouldn't be a problem considering that I already have a N1 catback on the car.
