Hey hows it goin everyone. I just got a 95 black q45 recently. I really like the thing its really confortable, but i got a lot of stuff i gotta do to it to get it in tip top shape.

One thing i gotta do is get tires for it, i'm just wonderin what tires you guys like to put on ur rides. I'm really lookin for a set thats affordable, i'm mostly wondering what sizes everyone usually runs.

I have the 15" stock silver spoked wheels, the tires on there right now that the last owner put on there are 215/65 15s, but they are just huge, i'm sure i could go a lot smaller on aspect ratio and i also plan on lowering the car a bit later on so ya.

Do you guys usually run 215s? or could i be cool with like 225/50s?

Any help appreciated thank you.

I went back to running 215/65/15 from my 18" (245/40/18).

Michelin Pilot Exalto is the only tire I feel comfortable with recommending in that size for a Q.Switching from low aspect ratio to this is a huge difference in ride comfort.

Going lower on the aspect is always going to increase stiffness.

Good advice. Read the tire sticky in Infiniti General and all of Q45tech's posts if you really want to learn what's imiportant.

One question for you - which part of the car is in contact with the road? This is the main reason you don't want to skimp on the tire, especially on a heavy car like the Q45.

Michelin Pilot Exalto is the closest you can come today to the tire orginally used to design Q suspension [Michelin Sport XGTV in 215 V rated]

I also recommend the Exalto, best tire I have ever used on the q in 200,000 miles of various michelins-currently have 35k on them, wearing well in the 225/60/V rated 15 size

Yes, definitely Exaltos on the 15" wheels. I went with 225/60 x 15, in the V-rated. The main problem for other tires is load rating - should be 95 or higher.

Lots more choices in 17".

You can run a wider and lower profile size on 15" wheels. It was great for handling on my last Q, though it was a handful in the snow.

I then switched back to 215/65/15 for that reason and went with Bridgestone Potenzas. Best damn tire I've ever owned.

15" Bridgetone Potenza are not an optimum tire in Warm climates such as the South or Southern California [where the poster lives].

Cannot say about cold mild snow conditions? Depends on how many minutes per year the car will be driven below 20F?

why even gamble with another tire in the 15 inch size when the Exalto has proven itself worthy on the q? and you get that michelin quality to boot

Michelin Pilot Exalto...I second Q45tech's recommendation.

I've tried numerious tires on 5 G-50s and I think the Exalto is perfect.

I believe the original tire on the Q was P215/65R15 95V, and there's no exact match on the Exaltos. What size are using?Tks.

225/60/15v or 215/65/15H are available in the Exalto=both are extremely close in size, with the first being the better choice due to v speed rating and higher load rating

What would be wrong with a Bridgestone Potenza in warm climates, plus what model, there are tons of them. I have S03 Pole Positions on my Z and they are incredible and i put the 050A on my Q45 also great choice. The 040 and 050 are standard equipment on lots of cars.

As for the original question, think about finding some knock off rims from a newer Q45. The 97-01 would offer you 16-17" with lots more tire options with I think the best bang for the buck at 17" with alot more choices of tires. Look around eBay, locally, etc for these types of rims. There are also G35 rims around that lots of people have used.

Well, with new Tockico and bushing suspension components, the Potenzas can really provide a jarring ride -- In Q terms, that is.

I was running on 040's and they were definitely a good tire performance wise. But the noise and overall stiffness are not anything I could compromise with when it started getting cooler.

The question concerned 15" and only 15" tires!
