right now I have 15x7 wheels, yoko es100 225/50/15 all around

I found some non-staggered 16x8 wheels, maybe 0 to 10 offset, what do you guys think of runninng:

1) 255/50/16 kumho ecsta 712 in front and yoko es100 in the front?2) 245/50/16 yoko es100 rear and 225/50/16 yoko es100 front?3) 245/50/16 all around?

why not 225-50-16 all around? That will keep you're OD in check, as well as being a nice width for a 8" wheel. No reason to be poutting a 255 or 245-50..too tall and won't really net you any benefit...other than having somehting in common with the F-body cars from GM....and that isn't exactly a benefit.

Es-100's would work well..if you can find a set of the S-02 Bridgestones still around, those are wonderfully sticky, but lack decent treadwear :/-Chet

if too tall is an issue...

how about 245/45WR16 in the rear and 225/45WR16 in the front?

I would like more tractions in the rear...

or rather, a better question would be: what woudl it take to have 245 in the back?

a 245-45-16 will fit on a 8" rim, its a bit wide, but fits just fine. My only concern wouldbe the front/rear split like that. you'll have a 225-50-16 front (for example) but since the rim size is the same, your effective aspect ratio on the front is a bit shorter than indicated, but the rear is a bit taller.

Also, you could run the 245-45-16 all around, keeping your handling balance and reducing the understeer in the S chassis.

Or are you having oversteer issues....?

hehe I don't know much about these things and you are obviously more experienced in this matter.

I drove all around on es100 205/50/15 all around before, then upgraded to es100 205/50/15 all around

all I do is drive normal but sometimes I do take my car to the limit. I would like stability when I drive over 120+ mph in addition to decent handling when I make turns at 60+ mph

I am not sure if that request is asking too much. I've read that staggered setup like the one I proposed, 225F 245R would get the job done.

so I am asking for your opinion as to what I should do?

you suggested 245-45-16 all around, is this better than 225-45-16 front and 256-45-16?

lastly, my concern is that I've read on this forum where someone said 245 in the front is hard to turn

ohh this is on a s13 chassis with just springs/shocks and I have no plan to get coilover

thanks for your help

damn, Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 245/45/16 is the only max performance that's about 100$ each

every other max performance for that size is at least 150$

I might just go with Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 245/45/16 all around, is there anything I neeed to know about running it like this?

what do you think chet? is this better than 225F 245R?

Other than what I said before, not really. a 245-45-16 is a bit wide for a 8" wheel, IMO. It will fit fine though.

Eityher way you decide to go with it, I'd keep the same size all around. I'm a large fan of decreasing understeer by bringing the front traction in line with the rear, not reducing the rear traction.

225-05-16 all around or 245-45-16 all around.

The hankook recently got good reviews from GRM, but it has some drawbacks (got slick when heated..)

Solid tire for the money, even if I don't thionk they have the best uuild quality :p

well I got the wheels mentioned earlier in this thread. It looks like it stick out 3 inch. However, when I turn the steering wheel all the way, I notice that it rubs... currently it is on 225/50/16 tires

if the profile change to 245/45/16, is it driveable?

If it rubs with 225/50 it will rub worse with wider tires. The car is not driveable and I'd suggest you get your money back ASAP. Simply put, those are the wrong wheels for your car.

yeah, perfect size, not-so-perfect offset. there is no way that combo will work with stock fenders. period.
