Ok first off this is no ricer post beleave me. I just bought a 90' pignose fastback for 1300 has 200,000 and runs fine.

Anyway the interior is shot pritty much. I am going to remove the dash and was wondering would it be cheaper and lighter to replace it with a carbon fiber copy or... Would you wash it down repair the cracks and repaint it? if repaint it... what stuff should i use becuase i know how easy interior paint can get dirty.

Ok , when it comes to carbon fiber it's NEVER a cheaper altervative that I can think of... unless someone on the board would like to enlighten me =)

and as far as cracked dashes go ., I would go to a junkyard and pick up a good dash because repairing cracks and repainting will probably look ghetto

and the windows off track.... I couldnt even start there ... my automatic window regulator went out and I had a body shop replace it beacause I looked inside that panel and decided that it would be too much of a headache to replace myself.

Anyway I hope atleast some of this helped!

Carbon Fiber is HOT. If you find a replacement, send me the link. My advice would be to take the dash off a wreck for now if you can't afford a new one or CF replacement.

Ya i'm sure carbon fiber is pretty expensive, you could always go with guchi haha just kidding, but carbon fiber would look bad ***

Well i saw this mustang project in this magazine. yes i read domestic magazines cause gay super street and other gay import mags don't give **** advice on anything.

I saw this restoration and powerup project these guys did it was really neat. They re did the paint redid the inside shaved the paint off the inside door... Hey why is there paint on the inside door where the metal is does it prevent rust or what?

and thx for the advice 89240sx

no problem... if you figure out a good way to fix dash cracks and repaint the dash without looking ghetto .....I'm all ears because my dash has two cracks in it I'd love to fix!

p.s. you can't see the cracks in the sig pic because i'm photoshop l337 ;-)

for 15-20$ go to a fabric store get about 2-3 yards of whatever color, style, material you want, a can of spray adhesive, razorblade, staple gun.

remove door panels(then the inserts, they are stapled on), glove box, armrest lid, and stereo trim.

cut fabric to desired shape do not cut too short leave extra...spray adhesive on, press fabric down firmly and stretch tight. trim off extra, cut proper holes out. then put it all back together.

this is an easy alternative for you fellow DIYer's, it looks great and takes a couple hours.

actually.the automatic window regulator was a very easy job. Take off the door panel, about 5 bolts and you're in business. Did one of my friend's passenger side '89 coupe.

^ it can't be too terribly hard to patch that. Get some vinyl patching **** and have at it. Sand, prime, sand, prime, like a billion times, then paint and clear coat and it should stick fine. ( the paint that is)

Well from the factory I know they spray the whole door inside and out... and I think it'd be safe to say that it's a rust-preventive measure. If you pop off your door panels after a car wash, you will find some moisture in there, and even moisture can invoke rust just as good as a puddle, if not better.

That doesnt sound like it would turn out nice... I'd have to see pics before attempting that ...
