I dropped the cross member and removed the 15 billion bolts, but it didn't move. So I lightly tapped it. Didn't budge. Went a grabbed a block of wood and tapped some more. Upped the force a bit. Nothing. Said screw this and hit it. The block left a small dent in the pan, but it did not move.

Anyone have some insight they could offer?

so you have clearance below it? and ALL the bolts are out? grab something like a decent sized flat head screwdriver and wedge it between the block and pan..... tap it in with a hammer (takes some force once you get it started).... then, move to another location and keep going.... once you get a few spots pried open it'll come off with some good 'ol elbow grease

Yeah, it has clearance, cross member has been degreased, thinking about painting it while I have it out. And all the bolts are out. All I've ever read said not to pry it off, but I might not have a choice.
There is no telling with the PO did to it or had done to it. While I was pulling the pan bolts, I noticed that at least three bolts are missing from the transmission case

there's nothing wrong with prying it as long as you be careful not to bend it... pry it little bit by little bit all the way around the pan
