Hey guys, I think I really need tie rods, and I am looking at the SPL Tie Rods and the Tein tie rods. Does anyone have any experience with either?

The SPL Tie Rods are $221The Tein Tie Rods are $73.97 from SCOOEM refurb replacement from Autozone are $51

The SPLs are fully adjustable for bump steer, but my car isn't lowered so it really doesn't need it. However, I can't say for sure that it won't ever be lowered. Of course I could just get the cheaper Teins now and upgrade later if I need to. I can't say for sure if it ever will be lowered, but it won't be for awhile now.

However, I think the extra $23 would be well spent to buy quality rods from Tein. Unless anyone can tell me otherwise, like they have a habit of falling off. I just have had a good impression of Tein as a company.

Any input?

Bump. I know someone has used these tie rods, I thought Tech section was supposed to be for performance upgrades

My bad, did abit more research, the Teins are $160. I am still leaning torwards "worth the extra money", but it is abit much. Plus I did find some other threads. One said to be sure to count the number of turns to keep the suspension as close to original alignment. The number of turns for what? The inner or outer joint?

Yeah, why I said 'my bad', sorry about that.

But what about the Teins? The SPL's are nice, but I am not willing to throw $221 into tie rods. I don't really need the adjustment feature as I don't feel that I will be lowering the car anytime soon, and if I do lower it, I am going to try and keep it to less than 1.25" or so. The $160 price point is somewhere I am much more comfortable with.

I can understand not wanting to spend much. I'm already in too deep so I figured why not. SPL instructions with pictures also are pretty nice.

Tein tie rods are pretty sweet. I have them on my car. The instructions they give are very informative, in english as well as japanese. If you got the money, SPL wouldnt be a bad idea, since tein tie rods themselves are very similar to s14 tie rods. The ends and the spacer are pretty much the only things that are different. But they still kick *** and I got mine for 144 shipped from some store on ebay
