step 1. remove radiator cap.

step 2. replace everything under radiator cap.

step 3. replace radiator cap.

car should be good after that.

battery terminal........

really????? are you that car illiterate?

dont mean to sound likean a$$ but typically (from what ive seen) 240's are cars meant to be worked on, so you better read up,.....and good luck

but it could be a bad connection at the battery due to corrosion or being loose, or a corroded power wire causing excessive heat in the wire

That is all made onto the battery cable. You will have to order one from Nissan- I think they run around $145, or you can "rig" it up with a new terminal and some soldering.

theres the metal piece that is screwed onto the terminaland the red female connector, that plastic connector is melted onto the metal partso best bet is to cut them both off and juss wire it straight to the terminal?

Congratulations on successfully cramming out 6 (FREE) posts so far while you were trying to spit out your "1" car part in question.

Why didn't I think of that?

I had a similar circumstance minus the whole melting part... In my case a fuse was blown and power would only turn on after I touched the gas. So start the car, nothing will work not stereo or anything hit the gas see what turns on *in park* now every time you drive and hit the brake you should notice that **** will turn back off.. If this is your problem on top of the melting issue, go under your hood and check fuses. Goodluck!
