So, first the back story. I bought a car that had previously been in an accident that was not disclosed prior to sales. Nothing reported to carfax. For about a month I've noticed the the passenger front looks lower than the drivers side. I checked it out, there are a bunch check of scrapyard parts under there. Took the car to our alignment specialist and he reckons that they used the wrong spring while repairing it. Possibly a regular m35 front spring. He wouldn't even do the alignment. So, what are my options for getting this car right?

I dont even know if regular m35 springs fit the m35x. I guess they do if that is what's up there. If that's the case though then why does everyone insist that you have to use espilar Springs to lower an x? I can't even find the springs new online anywhere and I'm leary of using used ones.

Is the spring the only issue?

Or is there more stuff wrong with it? Depends how much you want to throw at this car, it's mileage, etc.

I'm relatively sure it's just the spring. Or, the spring/strut unit.

a new set of coils is about one grand if you want to go that route. If not, junkyard for used spring or ebay. i would not buy used strut or shocks and go either OEM or KYB. This is assuming you're doing the installation yourself.

Does anyone know if the tein H-tech springs for a rwd M would work on a m35x? Or if stock m35 springs would work. I don't want to spend 1000 on coilover so. Or put used parts on it.

What I'm planning on doing is going with the tein h.tech springs and a height adjustable coil spring spacer set like the one in the link. This should allow me to have a pretty similar drop to the espilar spring set which, Imo, is way over priced.
