Guys, I am trying to replace the front left(passenger side) and the rear left injectors of my 93 J30. I soaked the screws overnight, tried all sorts of things, but can't get any of the screws to come off!! I tried first with the screws that are visible, even those ones are pretty badly stuck. I am scared to put too much pressure and strip the screws. Is there a trick to get these screws off?

I am almost thinking about taking the plenum off - which is going to be a pita right? I have Carlos's guide however I am stuck at the first step trying to get these screws off.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Ive heard the best way to get them off is to apply as much pressure as possible and just try and get them out as best you can... They are nasty little buggers...

Could be an excuse to go buy one of those 18volt impact drivers....

I used an 18v Black and Decker cordless drill to take a couple injectots out of the rail on a J. Find a snug fitting phillips bit and an extension and they will pop loose. Dunno if you will have room with the plenum on but if you have already grinded it then try it.

Alright guys bought an impact driver and will be going to battle with the VG30DE.

Problem injector is the front passenger side and will also change the rear passenger side and it shows up as 15-16ohms in the volt meter. The front one shows nothing when probed - I am assuming its trying to show infinite.. right?

Now I want to take out the plenum - did bunch of search - however I must be "search term" handicapped and could not find a thread discussing plenum removal on a VG30DE.

I know G50s have a kit that needs to go in when the plenum is taken off. Is there a similar kit that is required for the VG30DE? Also should I be replacing anything once the plenum is off. Please help me out here, as you can see I am having issues with replacing injectors which is something you guys probably can with your eyes closed!!

its might be to late but another way you can get those screws out is place the screw driver on the screw and hold it really firm and the get a hammer and hit the top of the screw driver and turn at the same time...i use this method all the time and it always works for me...
