I am looking to get a sub and amp for my i35 from my parents for christmas!!!

My friends have a pioneer and they sound great. I am looking at the 1000W Pioneer Premier 4ohm.

How many Rms and max watts should the Amp have.

Im not sure how im going to install it. My autos teacher at school will help me.

Could I just cut the wires that are going to the 200 watt stock bose amp and just plug it into the new amp??

Does anyone have any advise?? Thanks

You cannot wire it to the factory amplifier wiring. The gauge of wire will be way too small. So you will have to run new power and ground at the least. You should be able to use the signal though.

As far as power.... the more the merrier! I would just match the rms power handling of the sub woofer.

Let me know if you need any equipment.

Would it be that hard to run the new wires from the battery to the back. Where through the car will I run them? Would I have to add another Fuse because my battery already has a fuse on the positive? And where should I ground the wire?

You will want to do some research on the internet for a writeup. These are all very, very basic installation questions that you have. So if you don't already know the answers, then you need to familiarize yourself with some installation basics before you attempt it. You don't want to go and burn anything up!

On the i35's there is actually a pre-drilled hole with rubber plug. It's easily accessible on the firewall. Just drill a hole in the rubble piece, run the wire through the rubber and your good to go.

It seems like you have very limited knowledge if any knowledge at all of car audio installation. In my professional opinion I would recommend paying a spot like best buy or your local audio dealer to install your amp. It should only cost you around 60 if that and you dont have to worry about frying anything or doing a crappy job. When I first started out installing stereos at 16 I messed up a few ****ty cars myself, lol....

go with a amp that has 1000w or 1200w max and that has an RMS between 300-500w. and for the wiring run a 4guage wire directly from the battery to the trunk or where ever the amp is at, i ran my power wire the smiler spot as ^^^^. there is a way u can do it running through the wheel well but its a pain and drilling (lol drilling gigigity gigigity) is easy.

wiring an amp is very easy bro just search well look at other ppl's installations. my first install was on my first car 3yrs ago on a 99 A6 did with no knowledge or experience at all and it went well i just did my home work
